Who we are.

The Prostate Cancer Canada Network - Newmarket Support Group is a volunteer organization consisting of prostate cancer patients, partners, survivors and caregivers. The Group is a member of the Prostate Cancer Canada Network, and is assisted by the Canadian Cancer Society - Holland River Unit.

We also serve Holland Landing, Kewsick, Bradford, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Schomberg, Sutton, Bond Head and the surrounding areas.

What we do.

We are a Newmarket based support group that provides understanding, hope and information to prostate cancer patients and their families.

Meetings
We meet on the 3rd Thursday evening of each month (Sept - June) from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Meetings take place at The Newmarket Seniors Meeting Place - 474 Davis Dr, Newmarket ON.

Event: Round Table Discussions
Location: Newmarket Seniors Meeting Place, 474 Davis Drive, Newmarket
Speaker: This will give us an opportunity to discuss our various paths of treatment with those who have been down the same road. This will also allow us to ellict help and ask questions about the various options and procedures. We will also ask for feedback on how to make the monthly meetings more meaningful for all.

Event: Dr. Padraig Warde
Location: Newmarket Seniors Meeting Place, 474 Davis Drive, Newmarket
Speaker: On January 1, 2009 Dr. Padraig Warde became Provincial Head, Radiation Treatment Program with Cancer Care Ontario. Dr. Warde has been a radiation oncologist at Princess Margaret Hospital since 1987 where he has an academic practice focused on genitourinary cancer. Dr. Warde has been Associate Director, then Deputy Head of the Radiation Medicine Program at PMH since 1999. In that capacity he led a comprehensive effort to improve processes within the program and advanced new roles for medical radiation therapists.
